Read a thon 2024! Be a gold medal reader!

Read a thon has started and this year we are really encouraging the students to pick up a good book and read! This includes reading to themselves and reading to you! Reading is an important fundamental skill, and you can encourage your child to reach their goals by helping them earn their reading minutes every day.

Kindergarten 10 minutes

Grade 1 and 2 15 minutes

Grade 3 and 4 20 minutes

They will earn tickets for their time reading as well as collecting pledges. Every class gets to go through the prize room and students can enter their tickets for any prizes that interest them.

Why do we do Read a thon?

Reading is a very important part of your child's educational career. It acts as a workout for their brains and it stimulates imagination, critical thinking and language skills. The more stimulation they get, the more connections that are built which helps build a solid foundation for success at school.
