As the 2015-2016 school year comes to a close I just wanted to take a moment and say thank-you. Thank-you to all parents, and families for another fantastic year at EJWES! Your support and dedication to all that we do here at École John Wilson Elementary is in a word 'amazing'. It takes a community to raise a child and you have exemplified that in all of your commitments to our school community. As a school we strive to ensure that all of our students get the best possible start to their educational lives. We are proud to share that our academic results continue to be excellent, as over 90%+ of our students are reading at or above grade level.
At the end of each year we are surrounded by a range of emotions. Each year we say hello to a new group of Kindergarten children and say good bye to our grade 4's as they move to our middle school. We are very excited for the new experiences all of our students will have in 2016-2017. We are also saying goodbye to a number of our staff. Mrs. Lori Goldstrom, Ms. Kelly Gray, Mrs. Jessica Vanderham, Mrs. Jamie Harvey, and Mrs. Laurie Russell. I want to thank them all for the dedication and amazing energy that they have given to this community and wish them the best in all future endeavours.
With mixed emotions, I am announcing that I have accepted the position of Divisional Principal at CESD starting at the beginning of the school year. I am excited by the opportunities, but also very sad to be leaving EJWES. I want to thank all the students, teachers, parents, and community partners of Innisfail for such an amazing two years. Innisfail has taught me so much about relationships and the value of a truly connected community.
The new Principal of EJWES will be Angela Warke. Ms. Warke has been Vice-Principal at EJWES since 2011. We are very excited for her leadership and dedication to teaching and learning to continue at John Wilson. Congratulations Ms. Warke!
Have a safe and active summer!
