John Wilson Elementary School Council Meeting
Tuesday, October 15th at 6pm.
What is School Council?
Our School Council is a shared partnership between the parents and school. Parents can discuss questions, concerns and ideas directly with school administration and we work together to effectively support and enhance student learning. This connection helps us to problem solve and make positive changes. We recognize the value of parents and community being engaged in the education of children. It is through school council that parents, community members and school staff have an opportunity to participate in decisions that impact student learning success.
How often do we meet?
The council meets on the third Tuesday of each month. Meetings are generally an hour long and are either online or in person.
What do we do?
Our school council helps to fundraise to cover costs for school activities such as field trips and school wide activities/presentations. We also assist with organizing and delivering hot lunches. In the past, the Council has also hosted family dances and movie nights. We would love to have these activities return for our families to enjoy and continue to enhance our sense of community!
Why do we need you?
We are in need of more parents to get involved, to add their ideas, to organize and to help. We want to
strengthen our relationship with our families and make a positive impact on our school and community.
Be the change you want to see; please join our School Council and get involved!
